Also, since many of you enjoyed the behind-the-scenes details last time, I’ll be sharing more about the newsletter’s growth at the end.
Hint: There’s even more good news coming! 🚀
Highlight #1: James Gunn Gives Exciting Production Update On The DCU's Lanterns, Teases Connections To Superman → Read More
For those hearing this for the first time. Key Points:
The upcoming DCU "Lanterns" TV series focuses on Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart investigating a murder in the American heartland.
It seems likely that the series, set for a 2026 HBO release, is a crime drama inspired by "True Detective," with filming starting in February 2025.
The evidence leans toward a cast including Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, and supporting actors like Kelly Macdonald and Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro.

Highlight #2: Daredevil: Born Again has dropped on Disney+ yesterday and is on fire!
Late for the final trailer with Bullseye but I will post it here so you can enjoy it for a minute.
The series premiered with two episodes and will continue weekly for a total of 9 episodes.

Highlight #3: Batman: Hush 2 (H2SH) is in the works after more than 2 decades.
This sequel to the original "Batman: Hush" (2002-2003) features the return of the villain Hush (Thomas Elliot).
A new character, "Silence," is introduced and allies with Hush, potentially plotting against Batman.
The story is expected to involve Batman's rogues gallery and allies, continuing the mystery and intrigue from the original.
DC dropped a cool trailer about it with Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee. Just a minute long so take a look!

The Newsletter Stuff
In my last newsletter, I shared some interesting things I found online along with a few personal updates about this newsletter. That seemed to resonate with many of you, so I’ve decided to use this space—much like the final pages of a comic—to keep you informed about how the newsletter is doing and the ways I’m working to grow it.
Last time was the first-ever edition exclusively for subscribers, and it had the exact effect I was hoping for. Not only did more people sign up, but I also received two sponsorship requests. I turned one down because it didn’t align with what I want for this newsletter, but I accepted the other for precisely that reason. So next week’s edition will include a sponsored ad. Whatever revenue comes from that sponsorship, I plan to put toward a Zoop or Kickstarter campaign to support indie creators.
On a more concerning note, new tariffs have just gone into effect for Canada, China, and Mexico. I won’t get into the political or economic debates around them, but I will say this: they scare the hell out of me when I think about what they could mean for the comic industry. These tariffs come at a time when the industry is still reeling from Diamond’s bankruptcy, and many local comic shops and publishers are struggling. The effects are already being felt—and will likely continue for a while.
I will keep you posted on the industry changes that might come from tariffs on next weeks newsletter.
