Banana Blitz! by Bears Brian
Banana Blitz! is a vibrant, fast-paced indie comic that blends sci-fi, mystery, and comedy with a lot of heart. With a quirky cast, a chaotic store heist, and dreamy cosmic ambitions, it delivers both laughs and intrigue. The art is warm, expressive, and clearly inspired by giants like Oda and Skottie Young—perfectly matching the story’s wild energy. A stellar debut that's full of promise and personality.

Letters from the Creator
Hey awesome Reader
I’m all for celebrating the little wins, but this one feels big to me. This is issue #16, which means I’ve been publishing weekly for about 16 weeks now. That said, I’ve been putting my thoughts into writing for most of my life. Back in the early 2000s, I bought my first domain, and ever since then, I’ve been writing about comics, manga, tech, and marketing.
Over the years, I’ve supported various companies, whether through SEO, growth consulting, or sometimes even pro bono work. I still do that today. Helping startups is something I genuinely enjoy, and it also happens to be my “day job.” Most of my career has been spent working with multi-million dollar startups, and some of those even reached the billion-dollar mark.
But I’ve honestly never felt as fulfilled as I have over the past few weeks. Reading the messages from people who appreciated my reviews or enjoyed seeing indie creators featured in this newsletter has meant a lot to me. Quietly, I’ve started putting together a collage of those messages. My hope is to keep growing this, because if it grows, it means I’ve helped people—and that’s what really matters to me.
So here’s to another 16 issues! (and hopefully 1000 more after that)
Interesting Finds
I believe this post from Scott Snyder has been truly informative for me. I think that (especially) indie creators who are just starting out should go through this.
I randomly discovered this creator/creators(?) and I am just blown away by their work. First of all, they have a good website. This is not something you easily find in the indie space. Then they basically record voice for their comics and they even have a video for their first chapter. I am currently going through Locked Below for which I will eventually write a review but in the meantime … you must check it out!
Thanks for reading this issue!
