Hey everyone!
Quick note to kick off this week’s newsletter — I’m trying to be more active on social media! If you want to see what comics I’m currently reading (and maybe join a few upcoming giveaways), make sure to hit that follow button. Let’s maybe start with Instagram and we’ll conquer the rest as we go. 🙏
Thanks for the support!
The Highlights
Rippaverse Passes 50K books sold in 2025
Independent publisher Rippaverse has officially passed the 50,000 mark in comic sales, signaling a major milestone for the creator-owned series. Backed by a strong fanbase and grassroots support, the success highlights growing demand for independent storytelling in the comic industry. As larger publishers face increased scrutiny, Rippaverse’s momentum reinforces the appeal of alternative voices and self-published work in the market.
Transformers and The Expanse Dominate Kickstarter
Skybound’s Transformers Compendium Set campaign has surged past $2.5 million on Kickstarter, with over 6,200 backers and 21 days still remaining. The impressive performance signals strong fan enthusiasm for the franchise’s collected editions.
Meanwhile, BOOM! Studios’ The Expanse: A Little Death campaign was fully funded within just 11 minutes. With over 6,600 backers, the project has raised more than $700,000, further cementing The Expanse as a fan-favorite sci-fi property.
Hiveworks Comics to End Print Publishing in 2025
Hiveworks Comics will phase out its print and publishing operations by the end of 2025, shifting its focus entirely to webcomic hosting and support services. Creator rights will revert back, and the remaining inventory will be sold off or returned. This news is causing former Hivework publishers to cut ties and self-publish.

Creators Notes
Between Wednesdays, I always try to publish a bunch of reviews—and while I did get a couple out this week, I’ve been reading so many awesome stories that I feel like I’m falling behind. On top of that, I’ve been working on boosting my social media presence, juggling a pretty packed day job, and oh yeah… did I mention I have a family? 🙂
That said, I’m coping just fine—and there’s a lot more coming your way! Expect reviews soon from a few crowdfunding campaigns I backed, plus some hidden gems I picked up at the Geelong Comic & Toy Fair last week.
I’m also teaming up with Comix. One for some giveaways, so keep an eye on Instagram for updates!
I’ll wrap up this week’s newsletter here, before I start rambling (any more than I already have).
Thanks for reading, and as always, more comics and chaos coming your way soon!
Thanks for reading!
