Hey there ✋
Wow I am reaching out on a Tuesday. That’s unusual. Well I had a small update on your comic newsletter this Wednesday.
The main goal of this newsletter has always been — and will always be — to support comic creators.
Mainstream creators already have a decent platform. Whether they like it or not is another story (especially given the recent news about media companies paying peanuts). Still, they’ve got name recognition, publisher support, and some marketing muscle behind their work.
But indie creators? That’s where my heart is. That’s where I want to help the most.
My mission is to give indie comic creators a foothold they might not otherwise get. Yes, there are platforms out there to build a following and some are doing an amazing job at it. But when you’re juggling one or two full-time jobs and making comics is your midnight passion project... It’s hard to do it all.
So here’s what’s changing on my end:
I’m putting a much stronger focus on indie comics.
I’ll be including more reviews, previews, and spotlights on indie projects in future newsletters.
I’m also considering increasing the newsletter frequency — maybe once or twice more per month — to highlight even more work from platforms like Comix.one, Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Zoop.gg, and beyond.
Indie creators never sleep. So I won’t either…. well maybe I will… I have kids as well!
Here are some fantastic creators who have sent me their comics so I can review and feature them in my newsletter.
